@richnewman What little awe you may currently be feeling will, mostly likely, diminish greatly as the year progresses, since many of the books I’ve completed so far were either slim, or partly completed, or both. Low-hanging fruit, basically.

I probably gave myself too many early wins, since so many of the remaining books are either things I haven’t started yet; or book-length poems (such as Jones’ Anathemata, Reznikoff’s Testimony, and Johnson’s ARK,) in various states of completion; or books of selected/collected, which themselves contain many books. Or all three. I fully expect there will be plenty more weeks this year with no finished books at all. But it’s more important to me to feel like I’m taking this assignment seriously, than to paint lots of books on my fuselage.
