@crossingthethreshold We were lucky to find a rental in one of those high-rises near PSU. We could walk everywhere, and the Max & the Streetcar were right out our door. That view, however, was virtually the only happy thing about our five grim years there. We had a tight group of really good friends (some of whom we’ve known since college or high-school (and in one case since childhood), and whom we still miss every day) and I had hands-down one of the best clients in nearly 22 years of being self-employed, but… I don’t want to speak ill of a widely-beloved town, so I’ll simply say that we moved away partly because we wanted to find a place where we could be as happy as all the people around us seemed to be. (And I’m pleased to report we found it.)
